Chicken Salad Show (on a roof): Brooklyn Comedy Festival 8/25/17
One of the most exciting parts about shooting live comedy is that I never know quite what to expect with each new show I take. Sometimes, I'm asked to shoot in a professionally lit theatre. Other times, it's a dimly lit bar basement. Or- in the case of last Friday, a gorgeous rooftop in Brooklyn on a cloudy night in August. Seating built of cinderblocks and wooden beams, the stage lit by one halogen lamp, twinkling white strands of Christmas lights along the perimeter.
Chicken Salad, a show with residency at New York Comedy Club, took to the roof as part of the Brooklyn Comedy Festival. You really couldn't ask for a more "Brooklyn" experience than this one. Hosted by Andrew Collin and Mara Marek (Happy Never After Podcast), this super-Brooklyn-edition of Chicken Salad featured comedy from Krystyna Hutchinson (Guys We F***ed Podcast), Josh Rabinowitz (Comedy Central, MTV, writer: Broad City, The Carmichael Show), Kevin Barnett (Comedy Central, Screenwriter), Rosebud Baker (Sirius XM, Fox's Red Eye, Staff Writer: Elite Daily), and Tomas Delgado (Funny or Die). Check out some of my favorite shots from that night, and you can always see more of my work on Facebook and Instagram!
